BJJ without a Gi
During grappling classes, students wear shorts and a shirt (usually a rash guard). That is why submission grappling is often referred to as BJJ no-gi. In addition to the lack of a judo gi, the main difference with BJJ is that many submissions that are not directly allowed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, such as kneebars, toeholds and heelhooks are allowed here.
The lack of a suit also makes it easier to escape from a position since your training partner has less grip. The pace is therefore also higher and the positions change faster.
Foundation for MMA
Training without a Gi offers a very different dynamic to the groundwork game and comes much closer to the techniques you need for MMA, because that is also without a Gi. Grappling is therefore the perfect training for MMA together with kickboxing.
