On Sunday 13 February, a small team took part in the BJJ tournament Fenix in Brussels.
For Claudio Sabajo, Malik Lodowica and Mark van Vlierden an important first step that was successfully taken.

Claudio Sabajo
Claudio participated in white belt no-gi.
The first match was evenly matched until his opponent made a foot-lock error, which resulted in Claudio winning this match by disqualification of the opponent. Claudio, of course, would have liked to see it differently.
In the second match, he faced a more experienced opponent but suffered a painful knee injury halfway through the match and eventually lost the match.

Malik Lodowica
Malik joined the Gi division white belt. He immediately had to work hard in the first match because ended up in a triangle from which he tried to fight his way out, but had to give up 40 seconds before the end.
Immediately afterwards, without any pause, the second match followed. With a nice collar drag he managed to get a top position and win this match.

Mark van Vlierden
Last was Mark van Vlierden. Unfortunately, due to a dropout, he was only able to fight one match, but managed to win it and go home with gold. By keeping the initiative, he kept the upper hand and Mark was able to win this match on points.

The team
It was a beautiful day that inspired everyone to want to participate, so on to the next tournament!
