Team Renzo Gracie Holland was highly successful at the BJJ Dutch Open 2024 in Nijmegen, winning five gold and two silver medals. All participants from Tilburg won gold, with nearly all victories achieved by submission.

Pior Lobos
Piotr, the youngest and lightest member, had to compete first. He won his first match on points and the second with a collar choke.

Gerony Story
Gerony demonstrated his athletic ability by decisively winning two matches in a class where he was 6 kilos underweight. Both wins were by armbar, with the second one achieved in just 17 seconds. Remarkably, Gerony has another kickboxing match in two weeks.

Djesse Aarts
Djesse entered the competition confidently, and rightfully so, as he also secured gold with two submissions.

Simao Veloso
Simao, as an adult, had a slightly larger pool and thus more matches to reach the final. Nevertheless, he won all his matches by submission, including one with a triangle, one with an armbar following a triangle, and another with an armbar.

With thanks to the coaches!
Coaches Pepijn Schupp and Henk van Mierlo were present to prepare and support the team members. Thanks to their efforts and those of head coach Kemail Verhoeven!
