Successful Participation of Renzo Gracie Tilburg at the European Championships

On Saturday, June 25, Michael Vriens and Julian Witjes successfully competed in the PAN European Championship in Brussels. With three gold and one silver medal, they continued the streak of success on behalf of our gym. We are incredibly proud of these two champions!
Michael Vriens
Michael convincingly won all six of his matches in the Masters 1 division up to 76 kg, securing two victories via submission. In both Gi and grappling, he showcased excellent knee-cut passes, strong top control, and precise back takes, twice finishing with a choke submission.
This season, he remains undefeated with an impressive 14-0 record, including seven submission victories.
Julian Witjes
Julian competed in a tournament for the first time representing Renzo Gracie Tilburg, and his debut was a great success. In the Gi division, he won all three of his matches, one by submission, earning a gold medal. In No-Gi, Julian won three matches—two via submission—before losing one by armbar, securing silver.
Throughout the competition, Julian demonstrated a well-rounded game, excellent anticipation skills, and dominant top control.
